FAAIE and Silangan Dancers Showcase Filipino Heritage at ANHPI(Asian Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander) Clebration on May 10, 2025

The Filipino American Association of the Inland Empire (FAAIE) joined the annual Asian Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (ANHPI) celebration, bringing a vibrant showcase of Filipino culture and tradition to the multicultural event.

In collaboration with the Silangan Dancers, FAAIE presented a cultural booth that featured iconic elements of the Philippines, including a bahay kubo (nipa hut), traditional Filipino attire, a detailed map of the country, and other heritage-inspired displays. The booth offered attendees a visual journey through Filipino history, daily life, and national identity.

Adding to the cultural experience, the Silangan Dancers took the stage with a lively performance of Bulaklakan, a traditional Filipino folk dance known for its graceful movements and the use of floral garlands symbolizing peace and celebration. The group’s performance drew warm applause and highlighted the richness of the Philippines’ dance traditions.

The event provided an opportunity for Filipino Americans to share their roots with a broader audience, promoting cultural pride and cross-cultural understanding within the diverse ANHPI community.
